30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
The virtuous man or woman is successful in many areas. The root of her/his success in the home and with her/his family begins with her fear of the Lord. This is the characteristic that is most important and most praiseworthy. Fear of the Lord is more important than outer appearance or attitude, because that is where wisdom in life begins.
From where have you been seeking your value? To whom have you been comparing yourself? Our culture is very focused on outer beauty. Our true value lies in what God has done for us – transforming us from the inside out. When we honor, obey, and reflect Jesus, we become like Him. In God’s eyes, that is worth praising.
