DAILY DEVOTION

"LITTLE BY LITTLE"

1 Corinthians 1:26-27

New International Version

26 Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. 27 But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise;

God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.

You and I have been given the mind of Christ—this is a promise straight from the Word of God.

To begin to understand what that means, consider what Jesus’ mind was like when He lived on the earth. He was confident in Who He was. He didn’t let the negativity of others distract Him. He was focused on His plan for His life.

Now take a moment to consider what thoughts occupy your mind. If you’re distracted by the opinions of others, if you get upset easily, or if your mind is full of doubt and unbelief, you are not yet experiencing all that God desires for your life.

But things can change. God can renew your mind and bring you to a place of victory! The renewal of the mind is a process that requires time, and it’s a process that the enemy aggressively fights against.

It is important we purposely choose right thinking. When we feel the battle for our mind is difficult, we can determine that, with God’s help, we are going to purposely choose life-generating thoughts. The renewing of the mind takes place little by little, so don’t be discouraged if progress seems slow.

Take a stand and say, “I will never give up! God is on my side. He loves me, and He is helping me!”

Our thoughts affect our inner man, our health, our joy, and our attitude.
