Romans 12:1
The Passion Translation
Beloved friends, what should be our proper response to God’s marvelous mercies? To surrender yourselves to God to be his sacred, living sacrifices. And live in holiness, experiencing all that delights his heart. For this becomes your genuine expression of worship.
If you are a believer, your life has been consecrated to God, set apart for His use. You don’t belong to yourself; you’re a part of something bigger now. It is amazing to think that our lives are not our own; we have been bought with a price (1 Corinthians 6:20).
We belong to God and our lives have a great purpose in Him! As we get closer to God, we discover that we belong to Him, and that we are partners with Him in life and we should make ourselves available daily for His use. Joy comes when you submit your plans to Him. Instead of asking Him to do what you wanted, I began to learn to ask what He wanted for your life.
God simply requires that we be available and usable. All of us can do that! We can submit our lives to God, trusting Him to work out His good plan for our future. We may not get everything we want. But if we’ll trust God, we’ll realize that what He wants for our lives is greater than anything we could imagine.
