"Rescued from Deep Waters"
Psalm 18:16
New Living Translation
16 He reached down from heaven and rescued me he drew me out of deep waters.
Bald eagles build their nests far up in trees or high on the edges of cliffs. When the baby eagles, or fledglings, are old enough to begin to fly, Mama eagle will hover below the nest, flying in circles, calling out encouragement to her little ones to give it a try. When a fledgling finally launches itself into the air, Mama continues to circle the area below. If the baby eagle, for whatever reason, stops flapping his wings,Mama is right there to catch him on her back, take him back to the nest, and start the process over again.
Whether through poor choices or outright sin, each of us will occasionally lose our bearings in life and start to plummet. When that happens, God is right there, ready to catch us, setus back on our feet, and let us try again to be the Christians we should be. He never seems to tire of catching us and restoring us to solid ground. How joyful we should be that He's always there for us, always in position to rescue us!
