"Sounds of Restoration"
Jeremiah 33:11
New Living Translation
11 the sounds of joy and laughter. The joyful voices of bridegrooms and brides will be heard again, along with the joyous songs of people bringing thanksgiving offerings to the Lord. They will sing, ‘Give thanks to the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, for the Lord is good. His faithful love endures forever!’ For I will restore the prosperity of this land to what it was in the past, says the Lord.
Have you ever as though the whole day was a waste? Or possibly the issue is even bigger than that. Maybe you feel as if you've wasted years. The job you've had for decades is eliminated. A relationship you thought would last foreverdidn't. Someone you love leaves this world way too soon and you think, what a waste. Whatever place of waste you may find yourself in, today the Lord has a promise for you: there will again be joy and gladness.
There will be times of celebration and cause for praise because the Lord is good (Jeremiah 33:10-11). We can know that even if we can't quite see it now, joy and gladness are coming. God's faithful love endures forever. He makes flowers bloom in barren deserts (Isaiah 35:1) because He's all about restoring what looks to us like a complete loss. He can take our places of waste and make them places of joy.
