"Submission and Commitment..."
James 4:7-8
The Passion Translation
7 So then, surrender to God. Stand up to the devil and resist him and he will flee in agony] 8 Move your heart closer and closer to God, and he will come even closer to you. But make sure you cleanse your life, you sinners, and keep your heart pure and stop doubting.
James 4:7 says: “Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.” Most of God’s activity on earth requires the heartfelt commitment of mankind. Without our commitment, God would not commit to step in on our behalf.
We must submit to Him so He can commit to us. Many people go to church so that God will bless them. They come demanding rights, but few want to commit and submit to God. For the Lord to commit, we must be willing to submit to Him. People often think that God would bless them even if they don’t commit, but He is waiting for us to do His will, whether we like it or not.
If your heart is not committed to God, He cannot trust You with more. Allow the Him to transform you, and give you the grace to genuinely commit your heart to Him.
When you commit to God without reservation, He pours out His power and glory over your life. Submit to God today and He will commit to give you His provision, His glory and His power.
