Daily Devotion:
"The Acts of Salvation"
Micah 6:8
New International Version
8 He has shown you, O mortal, what is good And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love
mercy and to walk humbly with your God.
We´ve read all the things Israel was doing wrong. Now we read what they had to do: They had to do justice, love kindness and walk humbly with God. Three small, simple things that God asked His people to do and that asks us to do today too.
God was tired of religious ceremonies, sacrifices and shallow spiritual lives. The Israelites were not aware of how profoundly they had sinned against the Lord and they thought they could get rid of the guilt be performing religious acts.
To be able to do these three things, we need to be saved by Jesus Christ (Acts 2:38) “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins.) If we try to live justly, love kindness and walk humbly without presenting ourselves to God as sinners in need of a Savior, we´ll be just being
religious people.
Don’t try to please God being religious. He wants your heart. He wants a surrendered life. He wants us to behave as his children, as daughters of the King who live by His Word.
