Daily Devotion:

"THE CROSS"

Colossians 2:14

New Living Translation

14 He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross.

All of us have that person who remembers us “when.” They know the mistakes we've made: the lies, the poor relationship choices, and the downright bad decisions. It's safe to say that none of us would want to read a record of all our wrongs.

No matter how much we wish it weren't so, we all have charges against us (Romans 3:23). The offenses are great, and the enemy wants to hold us accountable for each and every one of them. Though we're all guilty, for. those in Christ, there's still reason to rejoice. When Jesus saves a person, they don't become a better version of themselves; they become someone completely different (2 Corinthians 5:17). We can have joy knowing that He's cancelled the debt and paid the penalty, and we can walk in freedom as though we'd never sinned. That's the power of the cross.
