"The Fruits of Spiritual Growth"
2 Peter 1:8

8 The more you grow like this, the more productive and useful you will be in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Have you ever been determined to accomplish a task or goal no matter what? Think of a time that you made up your mind to do something, and no matter what occurred, you did it anyway. Do you remember your thoughts as you prepared and executed that task? Can you remember the challenges you had along the way and how you overcame them?
Today as you listen, your task is to think of a spiritual goal you want to achieve. As you do so, consider how meaningful it is unto you and what you hope to get out of it. Next, determine if these goals align with the will of the Lord for your life. If youare not sure of this, use the following Scriptures to help guide you: Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding, in all thy ways acknowledge him and he shall direct thy paths.” Psalm 37:4 “Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give you the desires of your heart.” An alignment of your goals with the will of the Lord is guaranteed to end successfully.
As you encounter challenges and obstacles along the way, you may be discouraged and feel like giving up. You will need to remind yourself to “Be strong and do not give up knowing that your work will be rewarded.” 2 Chronicles 15:7 Habakkuk 2:2-3 summarizes well the process of achieving our goals. “Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for an appointedtime, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.”
