Daily Devotion:
"The One Who Makes a Way"
Isaiah 35:9-10
New International Version
9 No lion will be there, nor any ravenous beast; they will not be found there. But only the redeemed will walk there 10 and those the Lord has rescued will return. They will enter Zion with singing everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away.
Our God is all-powerful. He strengthens His people, and He avenges those who have been wronged. He makes
the deaf hear, the blind see, and the lame leap. Our God brings water to a barren wasteland and creates a way for His people to return. He delivers from bondage, He ransoms His people. Our God crowns them with joy and overwhelms them with happiness.
You may not be in a season marked by overwhelming joy. But no matter what, the character of God remains the same. He is still the God who restores, fulfills promises, and crowns you with joy and happiness. You can trust Him, no matter what, we do not need to fear, cower, or hide when we face suffering. By God’s grace, we can live
joyfully even in the midst of pain. We can proclaim His goodness even when our world seems to fall apart.
As you conclude your time in God’s Word today, ask Him to fill you with renewed joy. He is with you in whatever you are facing, and He knows exactly what comfort you need. Turn to Him. Seek Him. Ask Him. He is the One who makes a way, and He is making a way for you today. Let Him overwhelm you with joy in this season of waiting.
