"The Remnant's Praise"
Isaiah 24:14-16
New Living Translation
14 But all who are left shout and sing for joy. Those in the west praise the Lord’s majesty. 15 In eastern lands, give glory to the Lord. In the lands beyond the sea, praise the name of the Lord, the God of Israel. 16 We hear songs of praise from the ends of the earth, songs that give glory to the Righteous One! But my heart is heavy with grief. Weep for me, for I wither away. Deceit still prevails, and treachery is everywhere.
The word glory means great beauty, magnificence, and splendor. We've all heard that we should bring glory to God. But have you ever wondered how a person actually does that? God is already as glorious as He can be. He's infinitely beautiful, magnificent, and full of splendor. If He were able to increase in glory, that would mean He's less glorious than He will be in the future-and God is not “less” anything! Even so, we can bring Him glory by sharing stories and testimonies of His love and excellence with other human beings who don't yet know Him.
When we “brag” about God, we bring Him renown. Through our words and actions, we can cause others to want Him, to respond to Him, and to seek Him. That brings Him glory. And all the while, as we seek You and You receive glory magnify Him (make Him “larger” in the eyes of others), He grants us joy.
