"The Trumpet Call and Transformation"
1 Corinthians 15:52
New Living Translation
52 It will happen in a moment, in the blink of an eye, when the last trumpet is blown. For when the trumpet sounds, those who have died will be raised to live forever. And we who are living will also be transformed.
Few things are as striking as a lovingly crafted piece of repurposed furniture, for example, a dinner table made of wooden pallets or a kitchen island built from an old dresser. More and more, people are gravitating toward these sorts of pieces to adorn their homes not just because they're resourceful but because the finished pieces are lovely to look at. To have the skill to bring new life and meaning to something that appeared old, rickety, or even worthless-something that the next person would have taken to the dump-is a true gift.
God is the greatest Creator of all. The good news for us, His most precious creations, is that when we're “old and rickety,” He doesn't just repurpose us, He completely transforms us. He re-created us at the moment we were born again into the kingdom, and when our earthly lives are through, He'll give us not just are furbishment, but perfect, new bodies. What a day of jubilation that will be!
