Daily Devotion:
"The Unbreakable Bond: Jesus' Promise of Presence"
John 14:18-20
New Living Translation
18 No, I will not abandon you as orphans—I will come to you. 19 Soon the world will no longer see me, but you will see me. Since I live, you also will live. 20 When I am raised to life
again, you will know that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.
In John 14:18-20, Jesus reassures His disciples that they will not be left as orphans because He will come to them. This promise is profound; it highlights the intimate relationship
believers have with Christ. “I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you” (John 14:18, NIV). Jesus speaks of the Holy Spirit, who will dwell within them, providing guidance, comfort, and strength.
In verse 19, He emphasizes the connection between Himself and believers: “Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me.
Because I live, you also will live.” This assures us of our identity in Christ—His resurrection.
In light of these verses, let us reflect on our relationship with Christ and His Spirit, who empowers us daily.
