1 Because we have these promises, dear friends, let us cleanse ourselves from everything that can defile our body or spirit. And let us work toward complete holiness because we fear God.
There are some decisions we have to make on a daily basis. There will be times we need to say no to some things to which we would rather say yes, and yes to some things to which we would rather say no.
This requires wisdom and self-control, but thankfully, God gives us both these things. It is important to teach people to live holy lives, because it is an important part of living in with God. It doesn’t mean we never make a mistake—it just means that our heart’s desire is to live in a manner that pleases the Lord.
This is accomplished by seeking to please God in our thoughts, conversations, companionship, music, entertainment, and so forth. If our flesh desires to walk one way but God’s Word teaches us to go another way, we can receive God’s grace to obey what He is saying.
The good news is that there is tremendous reward when we do. When we choose to live our lives for God, rather than for self, we will experience righteousness, peace, and joy.
We will live in victory no matter what comes against us. That’s a wonderful life—that is the abundant, overcoming, joy-filled life Jesus died to give us.
Invest in your future: Choose to live an, uncompromised life for God.
