Daily Devotion:

"Walking in Christ: Rooted and Built Up in Him"

Colossians 2:6

New Living Translation

6 And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him.

Colossians 2:6 states, "So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him." This verse emphasizes the importance of remaining steadfast in our faith after accepting Christ. The Apostle Paul wrote this letter to the Colossians to combat false teachings and to encourage them to remain rooted in Christ.

To "live your lives in him" means to let our daily actions, thoughts, and choices reflect our faith. Just as a tree draws its nutrients from the soil, we are called to draw our spiritual strength from our relationship with Christ. This requires active participation—prayer, studying the Scriptures, and fellowship with other believers.

In today's world, distractions abound, and it can be challenging to maintain focus on our faith. However, we are reminded in Hebrews 12:1-2 to "throw off everything thathinders and the sin that so easily entangles" and to fix our eyes on Jesus. When we do this, we not only grow spiritually but also bear witness to others about the transformative power of Christ.
