- Our mission is to share life with people with intellectual disabilities (Core Members). We make a life time commitment, so we may find ourselves getting someone ready for high school prom OR we may be handling hospice care within our homes. Our community's strength is built upon the permanence and strength of our relationships. Our Core Members, Team Members, and our Board of Directors really work together to create a place of love and family for each other.
- Our community is strengthened by diversity. The team dynamics are made of about 40% white, 40% black, 20% international. We are a combination of different cultures, language, religion, age, gender, and ability. We believe everyone has gifts to bring as well as ways to grow, and we try to support that in individuals.
- Our community, outside of the times of the pandemic, thrives on community engagement. We typically have several special events throughout the year. We support individuals with intellectual disabilities to work and engage in the general community of Mobile through job opportunities, social groups and events, church and worship, and a variety of other things based on each person's interests and desire. We also love to support individual volunteers and groups to come to us for engagement. This could be schools, colleges, church groups, or just individuals looking to be more involved with people.
