Driftwood Village Project

We discuss:

A proposed ordinance that would make it illegal for the homeless to camp, sleep or store their belongings on public property anywhere in Mobile. This includes bridges, railroad or public right of ways, and parks. This ordinance, if passed, will be a direct assault on some of the most vulnerable citizens, and criminalizes them for being homeless.

The purpose of Driftwood Village Project: to create a bi-partisan alliance of concerned citizens focused on the establishment of a homeless village in Mobile, like homeless solutions established in other cities across America, where the homeless of Mobile can reside in a safe place to get “anchored” and prepare for affordable housing.

Seattle’s solution for sheltering the homeless.
