If you go to a track meet you will see many different types of runners. You will see sprinters who are flying down the track at an unsustainable pace. You see distance runners who are running at a pace so that they can complete their selected distance. Then, there are runners at all those distances in between. In order to run each of those races, each runner must train to work at the selected level. It is not something they can just get up and do. They have to work to attain their goal. The same applies to our walk with Jesus. We have to persevere in order to grow in our faith and better represent Him in the world. Most of us don’t train for the important moments and fall behind in representing Jesus in the world. We need to persevere each day toward the finish line, which is spreading His Word to everyone we meet!
