Networking IS important. But it does not have to look like what you may imagine it... Going to large conferences to schmooze, or hitting the golf course with "power players." In fact, you will have MORE success by being yourself.
Networking becomes much more effective when you do these 3 things:
1. Be direct with where and how you need help.
2. Be direct and gracious with where and how you can help others.
3. You network in the means and ways that you are comfortable and confident.
