Books... Doors to worlds unexplored and undiscovered. Pocket-sized capsules of decades-worth of experiences. (Aeshah's favourite food.)
Yet, there is such a sharp decline in appreciation towards books. Which begs the question; why? Is it because of inaccessibility and high prices? Or is it because of the environment that we grew up in?
Hello and welcome to Gen Z meets World podcast! In this episode, we'll be discussing all things books!
We began the conversation by sharing our stories of how we grew up with books—when did we start reading, how did we start reading and our favourite books when we were younger. We also reflected on our reading journey and how our general interests gravitated us towards certain books and genres. Then, we thought about the decline in reading and appreciation towards books, and the possible factors behind them. Throughout the conversation, we also pondered on how reading certain books may have shaped our perceptions and interests while honing our personalities.
How was your experience with books and reading? What are your favourite books and genres? Do you think that the general decline in reading is a cause to worry? Comment your thoughts below!
