Today I have a conversation with Colter Simmonds running for the Preston area under the New Democratic Party (NDP) banner. I talk with Mr. Simmonds regarding the “top five” issues facing the Black Community (1. Miss Education and Miss Representation of Education e.g. “water down” or “white washing” of Black History and African Nova Scotian History 2. Gentrification 3. Lack of Community Wealth (financial, medical, oral, general health 4. Violence in the community, Police brutality, Racial profiling 5. Mass incarceration) and his plan of action to combat these issues.
