Originally from Mobile, Alabama, The South holds a special place in Akoua’s heart. Feeling destined to do more, Akoua attended Savannah College of Art and Design and earned her B.F.A, majoring in Advertising with a minor in Photography.
Ready to take on the industry, Akoua spent time at Goodbye, Silverstein & Partners, Matchstic and CNN before moving to the West coast for Google Brand Studio. During her 3 years at Google, Akoua was a key part and leader of many internal initiatives. Aside from being an invaluable member of the Brand Studio creative team as a Brand Identity Designer, she co-founded and co-led the Intersectionality Employee Resource Group within Brand Studio and also founded Coffee Chats - a mentorship program that aims to connect and support the next generation of Black designers in the industry.
Most recently she joined Cash App as a Senior designer on the Brand design team supporting Crypto.
