Dr. Jonathan Dimos is a licensed psychologist with over 4,000 hours of clinical experience doing counseling and psychological assessment. He has experience working with a wide variety of clients including missionaries, missionary candidates, adolescents, college students, adults, couples, families, chronically mentally ill, and incarcerated populations. Dr. Dimos has taught psychology and counseling courses at Bethel University, Metro State University of Denver, Denver Seminary, and the Regis University MA in Counseling Program. He has taught full-time at SIAS University in China and in the undergraduate psychology department at Regis University. Dr. Dimos receive in his Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Colorado Christian University and his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Denver.  

In this episode, Dr. Dimos and I have some fun engaging in reality testing--reflecting on what our experiences of each other were like during my time as his student. We also talk about positive psychology and why this isn’t being talked about more in the field, the dynamics of being placed on a pedestal as a counselor and professor, why he transitioned from private practice to teaching, and much more.
