Daniel Westbrooks, an East Nashville native, joins us today on The Black Men Vent Too Podcast. Daniel is a father of two young girls, and part founder of the organization called “The Dream Initiative” which is a collective group that goes inside of prisons to teach life skills, restorative justice practices, and so much more .
Pops said in the episode he’s got “a million dollar smile”, and it’s amazing because he has truly endured a lot . Daniel vents with us about the frustrations that come with people labeling your past, (based off his life currently) with your present . He talks about how the affects of not getting a second chance as black men by society and how it affects him today in his own life. We as black men have to fight so much, for so little, only because we’re labeled by who we were, and not who we are. Don’t miss todays episode, it’s a good one for sure!
