Imagine this:
During the first dance lesson with my former teacher, William A. Forsythe,
I found myself on the receiving end of his criticism by just not looking at myself in the mirror. Why? simply because I do not like what I saw.
Can you imagine the sting of humiliation, the weight of disappointment pressing down upon me? At that moment, I felt small, inadequate, and utterly demoralized.
As a result of this experience, I made the heartbreaking decision to hold my aspirations of becoming a performer. Only because I wasn’t true to myself, I have always pretended not to be me.
In this episode my amazing humans let me tell you the story of how that humiliating experience with my dance teacher transformed what I am today. I still have fears of talking in front of people and talking on stage, but I do not pretend anymore.
Be yourself, be your own Queen.
