The Colossians believers had been afflicted by the so called ministries of the false teachers. They had diminished the person of Christ and caused uncertainty within the new church. Paul was writing them to help ground them in the truth about Christ. He desired to fortify them against future influence from the false teachers by emphasizing what is authentic ministry. Let’s listen well so that we can avoid falling prey to false teachers.
