Whit Andrews is a vice president at Gartner, the IT research firm, and has a forthcoming book about the role that running a Minecraft server had in parenting his young son. He talks about how he found an agent and a publisher, and we talk a lot about the writing process and how a writer can be seen as either the CEO of their own artisanry, or as "an independent developer of a product."
We also talk about how our jobs bleed into our writing -- and vice versa -- as well as the sin of writing in books, the benefits of e-readers, and other peculiarities of mind.
