Description

While eating your truffles and listening to a deep dive into the story of a man and his pig, you were transported back in time to a memory you never knew you had. Cue the grainy footage of an apartment you can't remember, the tile floors of a time gone by, and the music of a decade known for disco and funk. What is this memory? Where are you? Is this... New York? The room you're in is tiny, connecting a kitchen and living area together and keeping their context separate only with their respective furnishings. You walk over to the kitchen faucet, turn the cold water valve and nothing comes out. You try turning nobs on the gas stove, but no sign of gas. Suddenly, you hear a muffled yell from out in the hallway. You run to the nearby entrance of your humble digs and fling open the door. Leaping into the hall, you immediately spot a trio of men actively chasing someone out of the apartment. It's Dixon, Ryan, and John --and it looks like they scared that person good. After the perpetrator flees the complex, the trio turns around and dusts their hands off. They begin to head back into the neighboring apartment, and John notices you standing in the hall. He gestures for you to come join them, so you walk over cautiously and peer in through the doorway. Hey, it's The Table! Dixon and Ryan have assumed their seats, and John is making his way over. The only empty chair left is the one they saved for you. Join us at The Table as we discuss Death Promise (1977) a martial art-sploitation film that John wanted everyone to see for some reason. It's a film about revenge, capitalism, martial arts(?), and more! So do some quick stretches and warm yourself up for a film where anything can happen, as long as anything is some kind of fighting.
