Description

You're walking down an unfamiliar street, you turn one corner, then another, then another. You don't know where you are, completely disoriented, then you hear the muffled sound of laughter. You look to one side -nothing. You look to your other side -what's this? A set of stairs leading down, down, down to a door with a spiraling facade. Suddenly you're dizzy. How many stairs are there? Oh no. How high up from that door are you? Should you look inside? What could possibly be behind the hypnotic swirls at the end of this tunneling set of stairs? It's the Underground Table --with an open seat reserved just for you-- and its cinema patrons talking about the film hailed as Hitchcock's best work. Is it his best work though?
