The word that comes to my mind when I think of BTS is meteoric. For what might possibly be the most popular band in the world right now, I had no idea they existed a few years ago (seriously, the first time I heard their name in 2017, I was just confused).
Since then I've been very curious how they managed to break into the Western market despite only a single member being fluent in English. How did BTS break the 'bamboo ceiling' and why wasn't another more internationally orientated group, such as GOT7 or Big Bang, the first to do it?
