Description

On today's episode, Scott interviews his good friend, New Jersey's own trumpeter, Joe Mosello, whose impressive career includes touring credits with: the Jazz Ambassadors of the U.S. Army Field Band in Washington, D.C., and the legendary Maynard Ferguson Orchestra (Joe also played on four of Maynard’s albums).  Joe has played dozens of Broadway shows, was a member of the Tony Awards Orchestra for over a decade, and spent twenty five years as a member of the Thad Jones/Mel Lewis Orchestra.  To top it all off, we shared the stage across decades behind iconic artists ranging from Frankie Valli to Aretha Franklin. You'll hear how Joe developed his chops, what it means to a musician to play WITH your idol, (Maynard Ferguson), how to earn a living in music, and learn more about how he made his dreams into reality. Without a doubt, this trumpet player certainly GOT CHOPS.
