STUDY QUESTIONS
1) Phil’s message emphasized the importance of both knowledge and experience in our
relationship with Jesus. Knowledge meaning knowing Jesus theologically, and
experience meaning encountering him personally. Is this something that you’ve thought
about before? Why is it important to have both knowledge and experience? Do you tend
to lean on one of these sides more than the other? Why?
2) John the Baptist considered the meaning of his life to be completely for Christ and to
point to Christ, and Phil encouraged us to do the same. What does it mean to live
completely for Christ? Why is living for Christ often difficult for us to do? How can we “be
sold out for Jesus”, as Phil said?
3) Phil said, “The Holy Spirit is the greatest gift that we have received.” Why are you
grateful for the Spirit in your life? What is something that you’d like to experience more of
in regards to the Spirit in your life? (Hearing God, spiritual gifts, etc)
4) When we first become Christians, we have an enthusiasm and joy about sharing the love
of Jesus with others. But as we get older, sometimes we can lose that joy and we forget
about how exciting it is to introduce someone to Jesus. How can we regain that joy?
What are some practical ways that we can share Jesus with someone this week?
