Study Questions
- The disciples prayed and waited for the Spirit. Sometimes we struggle waiting for our coffee at the drive through window. Why do you think people struggle with the quite disciplines of prayer and waiting?
- Have you ever felt like a second-class citizen? Share a time when you felt like you were valued less or treated differently.
- Passion and purpose are magnetic traits in every avenue of life. The story of the Tanzanian evangelists that Phil shared was inspiring. Should we transplant their methods here? Why or why not? How do we build up our passion and purpose without faking it?
- The presence of God in our life is the foundation of our faith and practices. At Pentecost the mission and power of God’s kingdom was revealed to the disciples and Jerusalem. Before the disciples were bumbling but after Pentecost, they became powerful champions. How can the church keep God’s presence and relationship at the centre? Phil warned us to avoid religion and embrace presence. What do you think leads to a stagnant religion instead of a living faith?
