What should a believer's response be towards challenges and troubles? What do we do when our lives are surrounded by pain and suffering, blame God? Most people are either surprised or shocked to realize even people who love God and live the best they can, still go through troubles and affliction. Paul tries to give us perspective; "For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.
2 Corinthians 4:17-18 NLT. Let me draw two broad advise from Paul here. One; he says our PRESENT troubles are small and won't last very long. However long they have been going on or might have been with us, they won't last, their time will soon be up. Secondly, Paul says; we don't look at the troubles we can see now, instead, we fix our gaze on...What you pay attention to during times of troubles and challenges is very important. The temptation will be to fix your eyes on the problems, Paul says no. Fix your eyes on Jesus. Fix your eyes on the reality you are the victor already. Fix your gaze on the glory that awaits you as an overcomer.
