Description

At a period when many believers were unsure of their faith in Christ due to heresies that were making them question whether Jesus could have ever lived in the flesh and also be the Son of God. This teaching was attacking the very root of the Christian faith, the resurrection. If the Son of God could not have possibly lived in a human body because the flesh is corrupt, then whatever Jesus that was being referred to was not the Son of God. If that is true, then he the Son of God could not have died and need to rise from the dead. And if Jesus never rose from the dead, then the Christian faith is not real and our faith is futile. YOU SEE WHERE THIS HERESY IS GOING? John's response is emphatic; "We proclaim to you the one who existed from the beginning, whom we have heard and seen. We saw him with our own eyes and touched him with our own hands. He is the Word of life. This one who is life itself was revealed to us, and we have seen him. And now we testify and proclaim to you that he is the one who is eternal life. He was with the Father, and then he was revealed to us.

1 John 1:1‭-‬2 NLT. At a time when people can't say for a certain that they know Jesus, our story has to be different. How can we say we know Jesus if we never met him before? Can you love someone without ever meeting them in person? The answer to both questions is Yes. We met Jesus when we received his words, believed and were baptised with the Holy Spirit; "You love him (Christ) even though you have never seen him. Though you do not see him now, you trust him; and you rejoice with a glorious, inexpressible joy. The reward for trusting him will be the salvation of your souls.

1 Peter 1:8‭-‬9 NLT. Let's pray; Jesus help me know and love you better and better, more and more.
