The God's kind of love is unconditional. We call it Agape. It is love not minding the input of the recipient of love. Love is God's nature, God is love itself. Every action, every word from God flows from his love for us. Therefore, if we are his children and have his nature, we ought to love. Our love is not acquired, no, it is our nature, we were born with it. It is our base programming, the original software we were installed with when we became children of God. Understanding this truth, when you love, you are simply exhibiting the nature of whose you are. Anything contrary is antithetical. "If someone says, “I love God,” but hates a fellow believer, that person is a liar; for if we don’t love people we can see, how can we love God, whom we cannot see? And he has given us this command: Those who love God must also love their fellow believers.
1 John 4:20-21 NLT. Love is also a command from God. A command he knows we can carry out because love is our nature. Simply put, if we claim to love God, we must love others even when they don't deserve your love and even when that love makes us vulnerable.
