Welcome to today's daily devotional. The apostle Paul tells a very important message; God has something special in store for us, I mean, those who are in Christ. He has given us the Holy Spirit as a guarantee of what we will receive from him after our time here on earth is done. So we look forward to this promise and it is what shapes our very lives here on earth. Paul says;
For we live by believing and not by seeing. Yes, we are fully confident, and we would rather be away from these earthly bodies, for then we will be at home with the Lord. So whether we are here in this body or away from this body, our goal is to please him.
2 Corinthians 5:7-9 NLT.
Our goal, always is to please the Lord. We are ambassadors of God's kingdom here on earth. We represent his kingdom and values, we can't live like others;
So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!”
2 Corinthians 5:20 NLT.
Our understanding of this truth is what shapes the fact that we are temples of the living God.
And what union can there be between God’s temple and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God said: “I will live in them and walk among them. I will be their God, and they will be my people. Therefore, come out from among unbelievers, and separate yourselves from them, says the Lord. Don’t touch their filthy things, and I will welcome you. And I will be your Father, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.”
2 Corinthians 6:16-18 NLT.
Wow! If you are a Christian reading this, I remind you again; you are an ambassador of the greatest kingdom ever, an ambassador of the kingdom of God. It is greater than all the nations and kingdoms that have ever been put together. Secondly, you are the temple of God, the Lord wants not only to live in you, he wants to walk with and work through you.
