Description

Love can be a vague concept if you have to explain how it applies to a group. John however gives us a simple definition here that we can all commit easily to; "I am writing to remind you, dear friends, that we should love one another. This is not a new commandment, but one we have had from the beginning. Love means doing what God has commanded us, and he has commanded us to love one another, just as you heard from the beginning.
"
2 John 1:5‭-‬6 NLT. Simply put, love is doing what God says, and I promise you, the Lord will not ask you to steal from someone or mistreat a neighbour or friend. Love as God teaches us is selfless, it is graceful. It gives even when the recipient does not deserve it, that's God's love. "Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.
"
1 Corinthians 13:4‭-‬7 NLT. Let us love one another genuinely from today.
