Quite disconcerting, the trend continues, a king will come, they will seek God wholeheartedly and become successful, but at the height of their success, pride will lead to their downfall. That is the story of Amaziah and Uzziah. A man of God once told us, "power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely." - E. A. Adeboye. As we read through the Bible, this is one lesson to make a prayer point regularly, Lord, keep heart glued and focused on you, all the days of my life. Up comes Jotham in chapter 27 whom the Bible did not say a single negative thing about "because he was careful to live in obedience to the LORD his God" - 2Chronicles 27:6, my only problem is, how could such a life, such a man then produce the worst king to ever lead Judah, king Ahaz? For the first time since the temple was built, he locked it up. What it because of what happened to his grandfather, king Uzziah? We will probably never know, but we at least take from here that our actions always come with consequences.
