Description

King Ahaz legacy is a 180 degree from the way he lived, his son, Hezekiah is everything his father wasn't. If you read Ahaz's account in 2kings, you would have known that God was so angry he offered his son as human sacrifices that he decided Judah would Israel in exile. As such, the Assyrians were a torment to Judahl. When Hezekiah became king, God changed his mind and defended Judah again. There is probably no king in the Bible like Hezekiah, his reign was a true revival for the nation. Hezekiah is also one of only 2 kings who received a message from God and were humble enough to swallow their pride and repent. But just like the anomaly of a Jotham producing a wicked Ahaz, Hezekiah's son too takes the second position behind Ahaz as the most terrible kings of Judah. We will read about his story tomorrow. Lessons from Hezekiah's story though are clear, in the very first month after taking over from his father, he began to implement the changes that would turn the nation around. He didn't allow his father's sins and atrocities limit his service a d worship to God.
