A lot of records for us to follow. Verse 1 of chapter 7 tells us about the 4 sons of Issachar, Jacob's or Israel's son; Tola, Puah, Jashub and Shimron. This Jashub is called Job in Genesis 46:13 which gives us some background information about Job from the book of Job. Most people struggle to place when he lived but this account helps us and makes it clear that for some reason he did not stay with the children of Israel in Egypt. Finally, verse 2 of chapter 9 gives us an understanding why God allowed the children of Judah to be exiled to Babylon "because they were unfaithful to the LORD". Also note that Judah was exiled to Babylon while the other half of the kingdom, Israel, was exiled to Assyria. It is important to make this distinction as we read the account of the minor prophets and Daniel later.
