Description

As we conclude the letter to the Colossians in today's devotional, allow me to speak on 2 advises Paul gives this church;

[2] Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart.
Colossians‬ ‭4:2‬ ‭NLT‬‬.

Short and simple but carries a lot. Prayer requires devotion. With devotion implies there needs to be some consistency. Yes, there is a part to prayer that is impromptu and spontaneous, yes, but if you are going to be productive in prayer, give it your devotion.

Secondly, Paul says with an alert mind and a thankful heart. Stay focused. If God is going to speak to you, it is going to come in your thoughts, in your mind. So be vigilant. He gave this same advise to the Philippian church; think on these things, in other words, you decide what your mind will be focused on. And do so while being thankful. Be thankful for the little things. Be thankful for the relationships the Lord has surrounded you with. Be thankful you know the Lord. Be thankful!

Let's share one more;

[5] Live wisely among those who are not believers, and make the most of every opportunity.
Colossians‬ ‭4:5‬ ‭NLT‬‬.

You are a Christian. You are an ambassador of the kingdom of God. You represent Christ in this world, never be careless at the way those who don't know God see you. In fact, for some us, we are going to be the first some will taste or see of God. So Paul says; live wisely among none believers, let them see the grace of God in and through you.
