Jesus personally comes to explain to Daniel (just like he would later do to the apostle John in the book of Revelation) the meaning of his vision. In this chapters, Daniel sees a battle between the king of the north and the king of the south. This vision was later fulfilled in history by Antiochus Epiphanes who was literally a type of the antichrist. The importance of this vision and Antiochus going on to fulfil it helps us hone our attention to where or what nation the antichrist will come from. Lord, help us to glorify you by the way we live. Help us to keep our garments pure and unblemished by sin in Jesus' name.
