So many lessons to take away from our reading today. First, we already saw Esther turn to prayer and fasting in the face of a situation some might think warrants more of scheming and planning. Prayer is powerful, it connects you to a power source that is way beyond your abilities. Secondly, we learn from Mordecai who despite having been honoured and his arch enemy humiliated, he does not try to rob it in, instead, he returns to his duty post. That takes humility and the Bible says, God lifts up the humble. Conversely, he resist the proud which is the vital lesson to learn from Haman. Pride blinds you and will ultimately lead to your fall and destruction. Let's pray, Lord teach me humility like Mordecai, trust like Esther, and give me the grace to overcome pride.
