"And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him." Hebrews 11:6. Of the three pillar of the Christian faith; love, faith and hope, faith is the most misunderstood. Most Christians will grasp the concept of love and hope, at least to an extent, not faith. What we call faith most times is simply New Age positive thinking. That teaching that says faith is simply confessing it. Faith is not positive thinking. It is not even positive confession. Faith is catching unseen realities. It is being able to reach into the future from the present for one sole reason, God! Faith is not being certain of the outcome for the sake of it, it is certain the future promised will come based on the integrity of the one who made the promise, God. As such, faith from beginning to the end is seeing and holding on to God. Remember God is invisible, and to tell you the truth, no one, no man alive has seen him before. However, based on a personal conviction and relationship with God, faith is birthed. Faith is trusting in the integrity of God. That He is, and that he rewards those who seek him. That he is no a man, and that by his commands, the very universe were created. To tell you the truth, very few people will call what Noah, David and Abraham's experiences faith. Who spends 100 years building a boat for not just a rain that no one had seen before, but for a flood? Who leaves home at 75 years to a destination they are not even sure of? Who sacrifices a child they had waited 25 years for? Who runs into a battle front to confront a giant with just a catapult and a few stones? That is what faith is, it stands and rest on the one who said. Your faith has to go beyond what someone said to you, beyond what your parents said or your pastor said to what God said to you. Halleluyah!
