‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭4:15‭-‬16‬ ‭NLT‬‬
[15] This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin. [16] So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.

In today's devotional, we continue to follow the thought of the writer showing it readers that Christ is greater than all the Old testament has to offer. In chapters 4 and 5, Christ is shown to be greater than Joshua and Aaron by accomplishing what they could not. However, my emphasis this morning is on the call to us to come boldly to God's throne where we will find grace and mercy. Contrast this with the Old testament, people usually ran away from God, they feared his presence. In the New testament, the Bible is encouraging us to come. Why is this? The answer is in the first before. Our High priest. Because of Christ's work, we can enter God's presence. And not only that, we can be confident that because Christ understands our weaknesses, he has us covered. Let me encourage that Christian who feels they are not good enough to come to God because of what they've been through. Christ is your qualification. He is accepted, you and I will too.
