Leviticus 25:17-18 NLT
[17] Show your fear of God by not taking advantage of each other. I am the Lord your God. [18] “If you want to live securely in the land, follow my decrees and obey my regulations.
Again, as the point has been emphasized over and over again; love for God is displayed by how we treat others. Here the Lord was telling Israel that he would measure how much they reverred him by how they treated one another. Turn to the New testament and Jesus calls it love. If we love for God, we will love people created in his image. When we take advantage of one another, we show we have very little reverence for God.
