The most popular verse in the book of Hosea says,, "my people perish because they lack knowledge." Actually, this verse was not referring to general knowledge though its applicable, but knowledge here is the knowledge of God. When people fail to retain God in the lives, the outcome is usually a tendency to fill that void with something or someone else. Only God can truly satisfy. So the prophet advises us, "Oh, that we might know the LORD! Let us press on to know him." LORD, let our souls long for you as the deer longs for water, Amen.
