We start reading a new book today, the book of the prophet Jeremiah. God raised and used Jeremiah to confront Judah's idolatry and to prophecy about their eventual return from exile together with Israel. While the prophet Isaiah focused on mainly pointing Judah to the Messiah, Jeremiah's was confronting the idolatry of his day head-on. His message was simple, give up your worship of idols and return back to God. Practically applied, the words of Jesus comes to mind; you cannot serve God and mammon. Let reading the book of Jeremiah challenge you to give your all to God and to worship and serve him only.
