Why do you think it was impossible for Israel to give up their idols? Considering they had received warnings right from the time of the prophet Isaiah who warned that the nation of Israel would be carried off to exile and it happened exactly the way he said it would. He also prophesied that Judah would be carried off to exile too and Jeremiah was repeating the same message, still Judah chose to stick with their idols, WHY? Is there lesson we can learn from that? The lesson for today is to realise that it so easy to become steep in wrong. God also told Judah, you don't know me. I pray you will know the LORD for yourself.
